carefree

some of the things i enjoy most about being a mommy to young children is the chance to be carefree again, be amazed at the simplest things, the chance to see the world through the eyes of a child once again, to remember what a good belly laugh really sounds like i want to soak up these moments because they are going by so fast! when we first had elli i remember a gentleman telling me, "the days are long, but the years go by fast!" how true that is! there are days that feel like they will never end.. that i feel like a terrible mom because my patience are lacking but then they give me a hug anyway! i want to take the opportunity to push a swing really high, play in the leaves, give piggy back and airplane rides, eat animal crackers and drink juice, play with babies and drive a pretend tractor

oh to be carefree again!

a {30th} wedding anniversary surprise

my sister and i had been plotting and planning this anniversary surprise for awhile! let me tell ya... a good SURPRISE is not easy to pull off but we did it! mom and dad were completely surprised and it was so fun to see the look of shock on their faces when they walked in and saw us all! just look at them...
first things first... family picture! we barely let them get over the shock before we plopped them in front of the camera!

tom and tessa made an amazing meal complete with bbq pulled pork and all the fixins'!
no wedding is complete without the CAKE!
some momentos from their wedding day 30 years ago!

the newlywed game {they both won!}

the bride had to wear a veil!
cutting the cake.... they were such good sports!

we gave them a scrap book that contained pictures from the last 30 years
admiring dad's short shorts from the 80's... that was a good look dad!

30 years and still going strong! we love you both so much! such a joy to celebrate this milestone with you!
